1st July - test post

I've downloaded a new app - 'Blogger' - as I had trouble with the previous one uploading images. Let's see if this is any better...

Yup. That's Penny and I at Portafino's beach café, Quinns Beach, Perth, WA. Great. That means it works, and I can now use this to blog in future. Happy days :)

30th June - Penny's Birthday

Today is Penny's birthday. I took her breakfast in bed, and then Lesley and Jim gave her their presents and card.

We then went back to Ocean Keys shopping mall and bought some bits and pieces (including the bluetooth keyboard cover that I'm using to type this!). This afternoon we watched a bit of telly. Then this evening we went to dinner at a restaurant called CornerStone. It was nicely decorated, and the portions were huge - but the prices were pretty much in line, if not lower, than back home. Penny chose a yummy tangy lemon cheesecake for her birthday cake while we were shopping earlier.

The only downside was when Jim said there was no room for Penny to come fishing tomorrow, and that it was no women allowed. This upset us both, and I said that I wouldn't be going either, if that were the case. We spent the rest of the evening in our room - together! However, it wasn't Jim's call really as he was being picked up. Never mind. We'll all go again before we go home one way or another!

Day Five - 26th June 2015

Neither Penny nor I slept well last night. I was up until after 5am, and Penny woke up many times. Hopefully tonight will be better.

This morning we went grocery shopping with Les and Jim to Ocean Keys, a mall similar to (but smaller than) the likes of Lakeside. We met several of their friends, both ex-pats and natives, and all were friendly.

Then we met Connie, Alec and Jess and went shopping again! This time for clothes at Water Town, which is a designer outlet similar to the ones back home.

Had a nice chicken and donner kebab with chips liberally dusted in chicken salt. Yummy! I bought a pair of Converse… in fact, we ALL bought nice pairs of Converse! Additionally I picked up a Jeep hoodie and a jacket for our fishing trip that I hope will be warm and dry - it even has built-in gloves!

Now back at Les & Jim's. Penny's heel is playing up badly, and I am tired. Chicken Schnitzel for dinner tonight. Sounds interesting! Tomorrow we're off to a sci-fi convention called Super Nova. Should be good!
